Over the next twelve months I intend to master a variety of aspects of filmmaking in order to make me desirable to those in the industry looking for new talent. My main reason for applying to Full Sail was to regain skills I was losing by not working in the industry for nearly two years, while also gaining mastery over those skills and getting more hands-on experience with equipment and programs that are necessary for people in the film industry. I also hope to leave Full Sail with a network of colleagues that will help each other accomplish our respective dreams in filmmaking. As I’ve said previously in multiple places, I currently do not have an end goal for where I want to end up in the film industry, rather, my dream is to simply see my name in the credits of a movie I can be proud to have worked on. In relation to that, I hope my time here over the next twelve months can help me narrow my focus somewhat so I can get a better idea of an end goal in film once I’ve accomplished my goal. Another thing I hope to gain while at Full Sail is a mentor who understands the film industry and can guide me towards my best path to becoming a part of it as well as what I need to do to stay there and how to move up in it. Over these twelve months, I need to also master my time management skills better than I did at Appalachian State, and to continue the mastery of my own body as I did in 2019 by eating better and staying active in order to lose more weight and improve my life in as many capacities as I can. I look forward to my future post-Full Sail, but only I can complete my path to mastery, so I won’t try to. I will complete it.
